SUMMARY:Diploma in Islamic Counselling
DESCRIPTION:Our Diploma in Islamic Counselling (Level 4) is a two year part time course that is the final stage in qualification as a counsellor. With this qualification you can apply for registered BACP membership and work in organisations from NHS to NGOs. It’s an in-depth preparation to work with people experiencing many different presentations\, but most importantly it deepens your lived experience of Islam through tawukkul\, tazkiyyat and tarbiyyah. Tutors are highly experienced and will guide you though as you complete your assignments\, placements and personal therapy – all requirements of this course.  More details on the course pages of the website. Only students with Islamic Counselling Level 3 can apply for this course. Dates are for Year 1 only.

DESCRIPTION:Our second conference – Islam: therapy\, Spirituality and Politics \n15th & 16th May 2026 \nTo every mental health professional and student who has ever felt the tension between their values and their practice — this is for you. \nPart of the established tradition of mental health work is that the therapeutic space is ‘neutral’. This idea of neutrality\, developed in the West\, has been exported globally to places and people with mixed experiences of many Western conceptions\, including justice. \nIncreasingly attention from diverse perspectives critique the idea of therapeutic neutrality as a myth. Are the values of our therapy indigenous to the ‘West’\, or do they reflect universal truths? Are they divine-sacred\, or pragmatic and political? All are welcome to this conference\, which offers therapists from our diverse communities an opportunity to reflect and dialogue on ancient and contemporary Islamic understandings of self\, therapy\, and well-being.
