Islamic Counselling courses are based on learning simple qualities that we believe are so often forgotten both in the Muslim and non-Muslim world. They are founded on learning integrity and trustworthiness, presence and love, how to ‘be’. These qualities of character are not about accumulating religious information, but focusing on how to embody these through self-awareness and service. Being in the company of people who have made similar intentions and experiencing this through group-work, reading and reflection, allows Islamic counselling courses to come alive in one’s heart. This is nafsiyyat, the science of the self in Islam – deeply spiritual, Allah-centred and undogmatic.
